Cuban Pitcher Vladimir Gutierrez Becomes a Free Agent

+

Earlier this month, the Cincinnati Reds made a significant decision, designating five pitchers for assignment, and remarkably, all five cleared waivers without being claimed. Among this group of pitchers, right-handed pitcher Vladimir Gutierrez was notable. At the time, Gutierrez did not immediately opt for free agency, potentially due to specific rules or considerations. However, the talented Cuban right-hander has now made the choice to explore the free-agent market. Cincinnati added Vladimir Gutierrez to their roster back in September 2016 when he was just 20 years old. He embarked on his minor league journey in 2017, spending the entire season with the Daytona team. The following year, in 2018, he continued his development in Double-A with the Pensacola squad. By 2019, he was honing his skills in Triple-A with the Louisville team. In 2020, he didn't feature in the big leagues, but in 2021, he was summoned to Cincinnati, making 22 starts and compiling a 4.74 ERA. National Finals Rodeo Live Stream
