Farmers Only: Dauri Moreta makes it 21 straight

The Bats’ relieve has thrown 21 scoreless innings in a row. I wonder if there’s a bullpen out there that could use him.

Narcisso Crook: 1 for 3, Grand Slam, 5 RBI

Louisville Bats 6, Indianapolis Indians 3

A 7th inning grand slam by Narcisso “You’re a” Crook was enough to put the Bats over the top last night. Crook went 1 for 3 night and drove in 5. Riley O’Brien started and pitched well, going 5 innings and allowing only a run on 2 hits with no walks and 7 strikeouts. Nick Howard and Brandon “Begin Again” Finnegan each threw shutout innings out of the pen. So did Dauri Moreta, who has now done that 21 times in a row. I’m sure there’s a bullpen somewhere who could use him. Alfredo “Sauce” Rodriguez went 3 for 4 with a double, which was nice.

Chattanooga Lookouts 5, Tennessee Smokies 1

Chattanooga scored 4 in the 8th last night to knock off Tennessee. Ricky Salinas got the start and went 4 innings, allowing an unearned run on 2 hits with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. “A Little Bit” Alexis Diaz struck out all 6 batters he faced out of the pen. WIIIILLLLLLSOONNNN Garcia went 2 for 4 with a dinger, a double, and 3 RBI. Matt Lloyd “Christmas” went 1 for 4 with a solo tank and Lorenzo Cedrola went 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI.

Dayton Dragons 8, Lake County Captains 9

Dayton’s comeback fell short in an 8-9 loss last night. John Ghyzel was the only Dragon to not give up a run. He struck out all 3 batters he faced in his scoreless inning. There was plenty of offense to go around for Dayton, though. Ivan “The Great” Johnson went 2 for 4, hit a 3-run bomb, and drove in a total of 4. Matt McLain went 2 for 3, scored twice and walked twice and Allen Cerda hit a solo homer.

Daytona Tortugas 1, Jupiter Hammerheads 7

Oof. Not a great night for Daytona. Miguel Medrano started and went 4 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits with a walk and 3 strikeouts. Garrett Wolforth “And Prosper” went 3 for 4 and drove in the only run for the ‘Tugas. Rece “Piece” Hinds continues to hit the ball well since returning from the IL, going 2 for 4 on the night.
