A win tonight clinches a victorious homestand, but the Reds are out for blood.

News

  • The homestand is going exactly the way the Reds had hoped so far. After splitting the short series with the Twins, who are honestly better than their record even with the sell off, the Reds have taken the first two from the Pirates. San Diego dropped their first game to the D-backs last night which was big for the Reds. The loss moved the Reds to 2.5 out of the second wildcard spot. Splitting this home series would be a bad look for the Reds so they desperately need to win tonight or tomorrow but obviously a four game sweep of the Pirates is what we want and need.
  • Tejay Antone is going to start his rehab stint in Louisville here very soon as he was finally activated. The Reds could be getting back their best reliever very soon.
  • Speaking of relievers, I heard on the radio last night that speculation is that Lucas Sims will be returning tomorrow.
  • The Reds are about to be full strength and are going to have to make some interesting roster and lineup moves to account for all the players coming back. You’ll notice that one move already seems to be showing as Mike Moustakas is starting the second day in a row at third base.

Roster Moves

  • None that I saw.
