The Cincinnati Reds are activating star and MVP-candidate Nick Castellanos prior to tonight’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. That’s right, they’re getting the biggest bat back into their lineup so that he and Joey and Jesse and Danny Tanner can continue their thumping quest to get the Reds into the playoffs again.
Bobby Nightengale of The Enquirer was one of many reporters who relayed the news.
#Reds roster move: Nick Castellanos was activated from the 10-day injured list.

It appears the Reds will option Max Schrock back to AAA Louisville as the corresponding move, which doesn’t make any sense in the world to me, honestly. That leaves them with Mike Freeman and about a billion outfielders in this current roster construction, but whatever.
Let’s just hope it’s the right combination for this upcoming series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, one that the Reds desperately need to thump their way through. And if Nick returns to his old ways of socking fly balls into left field that’ll be home runs, we’ll all be better for it.
