The Brandon Larson Honorary Star of the Night
Allan Cerda - 2 for 4, 3B, HR, 3 R, 2 RBI
Louisville Bats 1, Gwinnett Stripers 8
Woof. Louisville was cruising and starter Bo “Knows” Takahashi had increased his scoreless streak to 23 innings. And then the wheels fell off in the top of the 5th. Takahashi ended up allowing 2 runs in 5 innings with a walk and 4 strikeouts. The bullpen was pretty bad and the offense wasn’t much better. Mike “I was born” Freeman scored the only run for the Bats and hit a double.
Chattnooga Lookouts 6, Rocket City Trash Pandas 7
Chattanooga scored 5 in the top of the 6th for an amazing comeback, only to give up 2 in the bottom of the 7th and lose in walk-off fashion. Connor Curlis “Iron” allowed 5 runs on 4 hits with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts over 5 innings of work. Wilson Garcia went 1 for 4 with a solo dinger and “Here’s to you” Chuckie Robinson went 1 for 1 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored.
Chattanooga Lookouts 0, Rocket City Trash Pandas 1
Ricky “Bobby” Salinas started in game 2 and pitched well, allowing only a run on 3 hits with no walks and 5 strikeouts over 5 innings. “A little bit” Alexis Diaz struck out 2 in his scoreless inning of relief. The offense was silenced and only got one hit, all singles. Not great!
Dayton Dragons 3, Lake County Captains 5
Man. The losses keep piling up. Lyon “Ritchie” Richardson started for Dayton last night and allowed 3 runs on 3 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts over 5 innings of work. Sam “Raisin’” Hellinger struck out 3 in his scoreless inning of relief. James “Land of the” Free went 1 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs while Matheu “Full” Nelson went 1 for 4 with a double.
Daytona Tortugas 11, Palm Beach Cardinals 4
As I always say, thank goodness for Daytona. They hammered Palm Beach last night to the tune of 11-4. Jose Franco started and allowed a run on 3 hits with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts over 4 innings of work. Alberto Gonzalez allowed a run and struck out 5 in 3 innings of relief. Allan “Mattress” Cerda went 2 for 4 with a solo home run and a triple to go along with his 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Ruben “Iribarren” Ibarra went 2 for 2 with a double and 3 RBI and Reyny “Reyno” Reyes went 2 for 4 with a double, 2 runs, and a ribbie.
