News
- Joey Votto hit base knocks 2000 and 2001 last night. Joey Votto, is indeed, awesome.
- Unfortunately, the 2000th hit game coincided with Jesse Winker being put on the shelf for at least 10 days. Which sucks because Jesse Winker, is indeed, awesome.
- The Reds demolition of what’s left of the Cubs last night wrapped just before the Padres lost to the Rockies. And don’t look now, but the Redlegs are only one-and-a-half games out of the second wild card spot.
- They continue to gain nothing upon the Brewers, who begin a series with the Cardinals this evening. Should the Reds continue to win, this series will be somewhat beneficial regardless of how it turns out. As it stands, the Cardinals are only 2.5 games back of the Reds in the wild card standings, so gaining some breathing room there wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
Roster Moves
Mike Freeman cleared waivers and was outrighted to Louisville.
The #Reds today recalled RHP Tony Santillan from Triple-A Louisville and designated for assignment RHP Heath Hembree.
