Brandon Larson Honorary Star of the Night

Ivan Johnson: 2 for 3, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2 BB

Louisville Bats 8, Nashville Sounds 1

Nick “Gumby” Lodolo took the start and was wonderful in his short outing. He allowed a solo homerun and four hits over three innings with no walks while striking out five. Reiver “Lives” Sanmartin struck out four with no walks with just a lone hit over two innings. Tejay “Old Fashion” Antone struck out two over a perfect inning of relief. Jose “Bashing” Barrero hit an inside the park home run. It was a deep drive to left field that bonked off the top of the wall and then bounced about fifty feet from anyone else. It was a two run shot. Nick “Senzinnati” Senzel went 3 for 5 with a double and two runs scored, Alejo “Sneeze” Lopez singled and walked twice, Ender “Games” Inciarte went 3 for 4 with a run scored, three RBI, a walk, and a run scored, and Alfredo “Little Pasta” Rodriguez doubled in two runs, walked, and scored a run. Also, if you’re looking for a slightly fun development, Nick Senzel was playing shortstop and Jose Barrero was playing third.

Chattanooga Lookouts 3, Birmingham Barons 4

“Sweet” Dylan Baker gave up two earned runs over five innings (6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K), and Alexis “Alice” Diaz struck out one in a scoreless inning of relief. However, the bullpen overall couldn’t hold the Lookouts lacked the clutch needed to win the game. The Lookouts left fifteen runners on base and had nine hits and three walks. “Mister” Wilson Garcia went 3 for 4 with a solo dinger, two RBI, and a run scored, and Pedro “Ricola” Cedrola went 2 for 4 with a RBI and a stolen base.

Dayton Dragons 10, Lansing Lugnuts 1

Christian Roa “Constrictor” had a fantastic start. he allowed just an earned run over six innings. Overall, he allowed four hits, no walks, while striking out eight. Matt “Ol” Gill “Gunderson” pitched two shutout innings with a strikeout and Sam “High” Hellinger struck out one in a scoreless relief appearance. Ivan “The Mighty” Johnson was recently promoted to Dayton and came out with a bang. While playing shortstop, Johnson went 2 for 3 with a two run home runs, two walks, while scoring twice. Alex “Leo” McGarry hit a two run dinger himself, and so did Eric “Foreman” Yang. Michael “Sweet Thing” Siani walked twice, drove in a run, scored twice, and stole a base, and Jacob “Lou” Hurtubise doubled, singled, walked, and scored twice.

Daytona Tortugas 10, Jupiter Hammerheads 6

Jason “Vorhees” Parker gave up two earned runs over five innings (4 H, 0 BB, 5 K). Matt “Catsup” Cachutt locked down three shutout innings of relief while striking out four. Really, two runs scored over his tenure in the game but it was because of crap defense and not him. Garrett “Were” Wolforth went 2 for 4 with a two run homer, a walk, and two runs scored, and Debby “Do Good” Santana knocked in two with his own dinger, walked, drove in three total, and scored twice. “Keep” Austin “Weird” Hendrick went 3 for 4 with two doubles, two RBI, a walk, and two runs scored, Elly “Phant” De La Cruz went 3 for 4 with a triple, a walk, and two runs scored, and Danny “The Uncanny” Lantigua hit three doubles, drove in two total runs, and scored one himself. Whew, that is a lot of offense.
