Louisville scored a run in each of the last 3 innings to come back and win last night. Jeff “Geoff” Hoffman got the start and went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with only 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. Mark “Omaha” Payton went 2 for 4 with the game-tying solo ding dong and Scott “I’m more of a” Heineman went 2 for 5 and scored twice.
Chattanooga Lookouts 1, Tennessee Smokies 6
Randy “All I Do Is” Wynne did not win on Wednesday, as he allowed 6 runs in only 3 innings of work in his start. Diomar Lopez threw 3 shutout innings in relief and had 1 strikeout. Wilson Garcia had 2 of the Lookouts 3 hits on the night, including a double, and scored their only run.
Dayton Dragons 6, West Michigan Whitecaps 5
Dayton held fended off a late comeback from West Michigan to hold on to a 6-5 win last night. Carson “Ex” Spiers started and allowed 3 runs on 4 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts over 4 innings of work. Matt “Fish” Gill threw 2.2 shutout innings and struck out 2. Quin “Not Tom” Cotton went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI and Jacob Hurtubise went 1 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBI. Victor Ruiz also had 2 hits, going 2 for 4 and 1 RBI.
Daytona Tortugas 9, Jupiter Hammerheads 1
Bryce Bonnin started for Daytona in game 1 and was incredible. He went 5 innings without allowing a base runner and struck out 11 of the 15 batters he faced. Not bad for only your second professional start. Sam “What The” Hellinger finished things out by allowing a run in 2 innings of relief. Brandon Leyton went 1 for 4 with a 3-run tater while Garrett Wolforth “And Prosper” went 2 for 3 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI. Danny Lantigua went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles.

Daytona had another great pitching performance in game 2, this time from Jason Parker “Bros”. He went 6 innings in his start, allowing a run on 3 hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts. Brandon Leyton went 3 for 4 with a double and “Little” Debby Santana went 1 for 3 with a triple and 1 RBI.
