The Cincinnati Reds cannot win this series against the Chicago Cubs unless they bring home a victory tonight. Gooooooo.
News
- What news?
- Ah, right - the Cincinnati Reds made some moves! First it was the acquisition of relievers Luis Cessa and Justin Wilson from the New York Yankees, a move that cost the Reds the inimitable PTBNL.
- Next, the Reds landed Mychal Givens from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for Case Williams, who the Rockies had just sent to the Reds over the winter in the Robert Stephenson/Jeff Hoffman deal. 24 year old pitcher Noah Davis was also included from the Reds side as they finally, mercifully added a proven reliever to their beleaguered bullpen.
- Javy Baez got no suspension for his actions the other night, just a fine. That’s bullshit.
Roster Moves
- To make room for the new trio of Reds, each of Josh Osich, Ashton Goudeau, and Edgar Garcia were designated for assignment.
- Alex Blandino was sent out for a rehab assignment, presumably to work on his knuckleball.
