Memphis Redbirds 2, Louisville Bats 1
Bo “Jackson” Takahashi got the start and allowed both Redbird earned runs on 4 hits, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts across 5 innings of work. “I’m Still Here” Tim Adleman pitched 2 scoreless with 2 strikeouts, while “I Am Too” Brandon Finnegan went 2 himself, with 3 strikeouts and a walk.
The offense, as you can see, didn’t do a whole lot. Jose Barrero née Garcia hit twice including a double and scored the run. Narciso “I Am Not A” Crook knocked him in.
Up next: A doubleheader with the Redbirds, with game one starting at 5:30 EDT.
Birmingham Barons 3, Chattanooga Lookouts 0
The Lookouts bopped 9 hits, but scored no runs, so that’s not very good. Drew “Rick” Mount doubled on a two hit night, while Brian Rey “Mysterio” also hit twice. Connor Curlis got the start and yakked up all 3 runs, on 5 IP with 4 walks and 2 K. Diomar Lopez, Alexis Diaz, and Miguel “RICOOOLLLA” Figueroa combined for no runs.
Up Next: a 7:15 PM start against the Barons in Chattanooga.
Dayton Dragons 4, Fort Wayne Tin Caps 1
Carson Spiers pitched a gem for the Dragons, spinning 5 scoreless frames with 7 strikeouts. Jose “Jethro” Tello doinked a dong, while Jacob Hurtubise “So Good” hit twice with a double and RBI.
Up Next: a 7:05 PM affair in Fort Wayne.
Daytona Tortugas 7, Fort Myers Mighty Mussels 8
Speaking of yakked, the Tortugas did just that in the bottom of the 8th inning, giving up 6 runs and the lead. We’ll give those honors to Ian Koch “Brothers” who gave up 4 earned on 3 walks in 0.1 inning of work (yiikes). Christian Roa “Constrictor” got the start and allowed 2 hits with 1 ER, 3 BB and 3 K.
Austin “Jimmy” Hendrick had a night, with a double and home run, while “The Mattress” Allan Cerda and Leonardo “Michelangelo Donatello” Seminati both dingered as well.
Up Next: 7:00 PM again in Fort Myers. All of the Forts.
