The Braves are under .500 and buying. Your move, Reds.

A Podcast!

The final episode of the Bleav in Reds podcast prior to the All Star break started out with a quick discussion of the Chicago Cubs. This week, we did the exact same thing.

While the previous episode’s Cubs mention was due to the 12-game losing streak they were riding and the impact on it by the Cincinnati Reds, this time it’s about how they’ve officially become sellers. In a move that’s peripherally pertinent to the Reds interests, last night Chicago shipped Joc Pederson to the Atlanta Braves, a move that bolsters a Braves club that still has sights on winning things in 2021.

Those Braves just lost superstar Ronald Acuña, Jr. and are a game under .500 right now, by the way, and they are buyers.

BK joined me again to discuss what that means for the trade landscape as a whole as we enter the final two weeks before the July 31st deadline, and what these Reds might - and should - be getting themselves into in that time. On top of that, we discuss the return of Michael Lorenzen for this vital weekend series against the Milwaukee Brewers, the results of the MLB Draft, and more.
