No bats for the Bats on Wednesday as they were shutout by Nashville. Riley “Father” O’Brien started and wasn’t great, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits with 5 walks and 5 strikeouts. Michael Lorenzen appeared for the third straight night and faced two batters, striking out 1 and giving up a solo dinger to the other. “Livin’ in a van down by the” Reiver Sanmartin struck out 2 in his 2 innings of relief. Alfredo “Sauce” Rodriguez was responsible for half of Louisville’s hits, going 2 for 3 on the night.
Chattanooga Lookouts 5, Pensacola Blue Wahoos 1
Chattanooga got back on the winning side of things on Friday with a 5-1 win. Connor “Hair” Curlis was great in his start, going 6.2 innings and allowing only an unearned run on 3 hits with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts. Nick Howard allowed a walk and struck out a batter in another scoreless inning. Drew Mount went 2 for 4 with a double and scored a run and Brian “Sey Hey” Rey went 1 for 4 and drove in a pair.
Dayton Dragons 5, Great Lakes Loons 7
Dayton gave up 3-runs in the 9th to fall 7-5 in game 1 of the double-header yesterday. Carson “Tinkers, Tailors, Soldiers” Spiers went 4 innings and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Braxton “Night at the” Roxby threw 2 shutout innings, bringing his ERA down to 1.46. Jacob Hurtubise went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI while Miguel Hernandez went 2 for 4 with a double and drove in 1.
Dayton Dragons 0, Great Lakes Loons 7
Not a good day for Dayton, as they got shut out in game 2. Lyon “Heart” Richardson’s struggles continued as he allowed 4 runs on 9 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. “Uncle” Jesse Stallings struck out 3 in 1.2 scoreless innings of relief. The offense only got 3 hits so we’ll just skip them.
Daytona Tortugas 2, Bradenton Marauders 3
Christian “Boa” Roa got the start for Daytona Wednesday night and went 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits with no walks and 5 strikeouts. Nick “MMMM Bop” Hanson struck out 3 in 2 innings of relief. Michel Triana was responsible for both of Daytona’s hits in the game, one of which was a 2-run dinger.
