The Brandon Larson Honorary Star of the Weekend
Lyon Richardson - 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 10 K
Alejo Lopez - 6 for 14, 4 RBI
Louisville Bats
Michael “Courtyard by” Mariot got the start on Friday and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts over 6 innings of work. Logan Morrison, who I just found out was in the Reds’ organization, went 2 for 3 with a solo dinger and Alejo Lopez went 1 for 3 with a walk.
“O” Riley O’Brien started on Saturday and went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts. The bullpen combined to allow only 1 hit in 4 shutout innings. Alejo Lopez continued to hit the shit out of the ball, going 4 for 6 with 3 RBI. Alfredo “Sauce” Rodriguez went 3 for 5 with a double and a run scored and Bo Beau Taylor went 3 for 4 with a 3-run dinger and 2 runs scored.
Beau Bo Takahashi lasted only 2 innings in his start, allowing 6 runs on 6 hits with 2 strikeouts. Mark “Jeff” Payton went 3 for 5 with a double and a RBI and Alfredo Rodriguez went 1 for 3 and scored a run.
Chattanooga Lookouts
Michael “Feel The” Byrne allowed no runs and struck out 3 in 2.1 innings of work. Lorenzo Cedrola went 1 for 4 with 2 RBI and Jay Schuyler “Sisters” went 1 for 2 with a double, 2 walks, and a RBI. “Ed, Edd, and” Eddy Demurias struck out 2 in 1.1 scoreless innings of relief.
A 6-run 7th propelled Chattanooga to a win on Saturday. Randy Wynne “Dixie” allowed 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits with no walks and 2 strikeouts over 5.2 innings of work. Jose Barrero went 2 for 5 with a RBI and a run scored. TJ Hopkins went 3 for 3 with a double and a RBI and Wilson Garcia went 3 for 4 and scored a run. Dauri Moreta struck out 3 in 2.2 scoreless innings of relief.
Connor Curlis allowed 2 runs on 5 hits but walked 5 and struck out 5 in 4 innings of work. Hector “Nectar” Perez struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings of relief. Wilson Garcia went 2 for 3 with a RBI and a run scored.
Dayton Dragons
Carson “Ex” Spiers went 4.2 innings and allowed 4 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits with no walks and 7 strikeouts. Quincy “Anti-Virus” McAfee went 1 for 3 with a 2-run tank. Jacob Hurtubise went 1 for 2 with a walk and a RBI.
Lyon “Richie” Richardson threw a complete game in game 2 on Saturday, allowing a run on 2 hits with 3 walks and 10 strikeouts. Jonathan Willems went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored and Jacob Hurtubise went 3 for 4 with a RBI and scored a run.
Eduardo Salazar “Slytherin” gave up 3 runs in 2 innings of work in his start on Sunday. The bullpen looked a lot like the Reds’ bullpen and gave up 8 more throughout the game. Michael Siani was responsible for both runs, going 3 for 4 with 2 solo dingers.
Case Williams lasted only 3 innings in his start on Friday, allowing 4 runs on 3 hits with 5 walks and 3 strikeouts. Juan “Cain and” Abril struck out 4 in 3 scoreless innings of relief. Reyny Reyes went 1 for 3 with a walk and a RBI and Garrett Wolforth “And Prosper” went 1 for 4 with a double and a RBI.
I’ll skip the pitching in this one since, well, they still gave up 9 runs in the victory. Offensively, Daytona walked 8 times and only had 6 hits, but the walks haunted. Michael Triana went 2 for 3 and drove in a pair. Austin Hendrick “Motorsport” went 1 for 3 with a RBI double.
The pitching was bad again, giving up 9 runs. Miguel Medrano did throw 1.1 scoreless in relief and struck out 3, so that was nice. Leonardo “Illuminati” Seminati went 1 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI.
