  • Tony Santillan only pitched 53 pitches last night, exiting when his spot in the batting order came up in the 4th inning. David Bell made the calculation that it was, at the time, the first best chance for the Reds to score, and felt Shogo Akiyama gave them a better shot at the plate than Santillan. It was probably the right call, but it didn’t work. Charlie at the Enquirer has the story here.
