The idea that the Cincinnati Reds could have a pitcher who could roll out of bed and toss a no-hitter in 2021 was pretty realistic, in all honesty. Luis Castillo is the owner of some of the most electric, unhittable stuff when he’s on, and he’s a Cincinnati Reds pitcher after all.
Castillo, though, has struggled mightily in his action so far this year, and it was Wade Miley, the crafty lefty, who did the no-no deed instead. Perhaps that can serve as something as a kick in the pants to Castillo today, who’ll be looking to turn the corner after limping to an ugly 6.07 ERA and minuscule 7.28 K/9 in his 6 starts this year.
Cleveland, meanwhile, will turn to Aaron Civale, who is a pitcher who pitches pitches for Cleveland.
First pitch is set for 6:10 PM ET, with the chance for Cincinnati to lock up the series on the line.
Go Reds, go.
