Perhaps it’s just because we missed out on seeing so much would-be baseball last year, but it sure as hell feels as if the injuries during this 2021 season have rendered us more devoid of star players than perhaps ever before. Perhaps that’s not merely our perception, and perhaps that long, unexpected layoff and the jump back to a resumption of normalcy on the baseball schedule simply taxed the bods of these elite athletes in unexpected ways, and it’s tweaking and torquing them into uncomfortable spots.
It’s a bummer, man. It’s got so damn many of the best and brightest again on the sidelines, and that’s the focus of this week’s Friday List.
Here’s an incomplete yet thorough list of super cool and good MLB players who are on the shelf with injuries at this very moment, a list that doesn’t even include the likes of Christian Yelich Fernandon Tatis, Jr. and Anthony Rendon and other studs who missed a lot of time earlier this year.
