Reds vs. Giants, Game 3 - Preview and Lineups

Two games against the Giants, two brutal close losses. Let’s hope the team can bounce back tonight.

The Reds have no-hitter-boy and temporary-tattoo-peddler Wade Miley on the hill tonight. After his no-no, the next start after that did, uh, not go as well. Hopefully having less pressure on him will allow him to get in a better rhythm and do what he does.

Another former Red toes the rubber on the other side in Kevin Gausman. After he performed admirably after the Reds picked him up off the scrap heap in 2019, they decided that he was a luxury and let him walk, where he signed with the Giants. He’s been brilliant since, especially this year, where he’s sporting a 1.84 ERA in his 8 starts. Like his compadre in Disco last night, he’s missing hard contact much more this season than any other time in his career.

Tyler Stephenson is starting at 1B tonight, as the Reds are throwing everything they can at the wall to get someone productive in the lineup to replace Joey Votto. Shogo’s also back in the lineup, starting at CF, as Tyler Naquin and Nick Senzel sit.
