One positive thing we can say about these Reds so far this year is that they tend to beat the teams that they’re supposed to beat. The Pirates definitely fall into that category, and the Reds have outscored them 44-9 in the 4 games that they’ve played against each other so far. It’s gotta be a pretty rare feat to beat the same team 14-1 multiple times in the same season.
Another rotation change today, as Jeff Hoffman *does* get the ball, after being skipped yesterday. That’ll put Sonny Gray in charge of the day game tomorrow, and Wade Vander Miley gets his shot at greatness in Denver on Thursday.
No Shogo in this one, with Tyler Naquin playing CF today. They’ll face JT Brubaker for the Buccos, who has been pretty darn good so far, and who only gave up 1 run when he faced the Reds in April.
Go Reds!
