After the rainout on Sunday, the Reds take on the Pirates for a 3-game set. Tyler Mahle gets the ball for this one, who was the scheduled starter yesterday. Jeff Hoffman gets skipped and will get a break between his starts, pitching Sunday in Colorado.
Mahle could use the work. He hasn’t pitched since he got lit up by the Cubs last week, so it’s not a bad thing that he’s getting the Pirates lineup today instead of the Tribe.
He’ll face Mitch Keller for Pittsburgh, who is one of those guys that I feel like always does well against the Reds. Ugh.
First pitch is at 6:35 ET.
