Reds vs. Pirates, Game 3 - Preview and Lineups

MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates at Cincinnati Reds David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

There’s nothing like a business special to close out a sweep. We should have decent weather today, so try to get down to the ballyard if you can.

Luis Castillo will make his second start of the year, after a forgettable Opening Day. The rest of the Reds’ rotation has really stepped up, but Castillo is still “the guy” right now, and the Reds need to get him going. Let’s hope that the opposition helps him have a better start than he did on Thursday.

He’ll face Chad Kuhl for Pittsburgh. Kuhl started Opening Day for the Pirates, but only threw 3 innings of work, giving up just one run.

A couple of small lineup tweaks today, as Geno gets the day off. Kyle Farmer will start at SS, his natural position, and Tyler Stephenson gets his first start of the year behind the plate, after some solid reserve appearances. Tyler Naquin is still leading off with Jesse Winker on the shelf, because he absolutely should be given how he’s hit so far.

Go Reds.
