Go get ‘em tomorrow, Reds.

Nick Senzel singled thrice and drove in a run for the Cincinnati Reds against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday, and that was pretty awesome.

Mike Moustakas had a pair of hits, too, and added a run scored for good measure.

Tyler Naquin singled and doubled to keep his red-hot streak alive, while Eugenio Suarez walked, singled, and socked a late solo dinger, too.

This Reds offense is going to be juuuust fine all year, even though it wasn’t enough to offset the BABIP gods, the bullpen, and some iffy defense on the night.

Ol’ Nuxy would tell the guys to have a beer, get some sleep, and go get ‘em again tomorrow.

Key Plays

  • It took the Reds a whole-ass extra inning to get on the board today, but they finally cracked the egg in the Top of the 2nd against Arizona starter Riley Smith. Eugenio Suarez began things with a walk, and he moved to 3B on a double by Moose. Senzel then dumped an RBI single into RF (before later getting picked off 1B), but India picked up the pieces after the TOOTBLAN with an RBI single into RF, too. Reds led, 2-0.
  • Y’know...
  • ...the Reds are 6-2 after 8 games, and that’s pretty awesome.

Other Notes

  • Jeff Hoffman looked mostly fine for awhile, but some inherited runs that scored when Cionel Perez eventually dented his overall line on the night.
  • Jose De Leon will toe the rubber for the Reds in the series finale against the Diamondbacks on Sunday, and he’ll do so opposite former St. Louis Cardinals starter Luke Weaver. First pitch in that one on Sunday is set for 4:10 PM ET.
  • Tunes.
