Reds at Diamondbacks, Game 2 - Preview and Lineups

MLB: Cincinnati Reds at Arizona Diamondbacks Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Good evening! The Red Hot Reds™️ will go for another series win tonight. This game won’t be as late of a start, so us Reds fans in Cincinnati will have a bit easier of a time watching.

Jeff Hoffman takes the ball for the Reds tonight, with another golden opportunity to keep his name in the conversation for the Reds’ rotation. Hoffman was excellent in his first start in Cincinnati, throwing 5 innings and only giving up 1 run on 3 hits. He didn’t walk anybody and struck out 9 Cardinals. Can he do it again on the road?

They’ll face Riley Smith, who will be making his first career start after being primarily a long relief guy for Torey Lovullo. He was a late change from Caleb Smith, one of a long line of them on the Arizona Diamondsmiths.

The lineup looks pretty familiar, and as expected, Jesse Winker isn’t in it. Winker had some cramping issues in last night’s game, and with Tyler Naquin and Nick Senzel both hot at the plate, it’s an easy call to sit him for this one.

Game starts at 8:10 ET, on Fox Balls Ohio with John Sadak and Chris Welsh on the call. Go Reds!
