2021 Spring Training Game 25: Reds at Diamondbacks

One inch closer to Opening Day...

The last time we saw Joey Votto in a Cincinnati Reds uniform on a Cactus League field we were 2 years old in diapers. Well, some of you were, at least, and most of you that were probably still are now. And you’re probably having someone else read this to you. I have reduced my audience to one.

Anyway, Joey Votto is back in the lineup for the Reds today after missing a pair of weeks following a COVID diagnosis, and frankly, we are excite.

Joey’s Reds will be taking on an Arizona Diamondbacks club that’ll be putting Madison Bumgarner on the mound, so keep an eye out for his PA against starter Wade Miley today, as we all know Maddy Bum will be swinging a Carolina pine with eyes on socking a dinger a country mile.

(Wade Miley is pitching today, by the way.)

Votto’s back in the #3 spot in the lineup today in an order that features a lot of similarity to what we might see come Opening Day from manager David Bell. Of course, today manager David Bell is not actually a thing, as he’s reportedly away from camp with Freddie Benavides in charge.

First pitch is set for 4:10 PM ET, and you can’t watch it anywhere. Good job, good effort, MLB.
