This Week in JPEGs is brought to you this week by that suffocating shortness of breath you’ve been feeling for days now. No, it isn’t COVID symptoms (fortunately). It is the weight of the absolutely certain knowledge that the world you grew up in, the only home you’ve ever known, the life you have been building minute-block by minute-block for however many minutes you’ve been alive, has been a complete waste of time and resources. This president recommends that you inject bleach into your veins. He promises it will set you free.

The only thing keeping me from doing just that is fear of failure.

Last week’s winner was Jackie Robinson Blowing Up COVID-19’s Apartment Building with a Bazooka. That was a hell of a lot of fun to draw.

The Titanic, The Iceberg, and Wily Mo Peña

Oh hey, I know just the thing! My friend @brown11b mentioned on Twitter a desire for some Wily Mo P content today. So that reminded me ...

I’m sure you all remember Wily Mo Peña, right? He was a big galoot and hit a bunch of home runs in 2005. But with Ken Griffey Jr, Adam Dunn, and Austin Kearns already in the outfield, the Reds decided to trade him. He went to the Red Sox in exchange for Bronson Arroyo, which is one of the best trades the Reds have made this century (Arroyo was pretty good for the Reds, you know).

So y’all remember that time Peña hit two home runs against the Padres? That was awesome. And remember that time he hung out with the Titanic and that iceberg? Wily Mo was all “juguemos beisbol!” and the iceberg was all “lol!”
