The Los Angeles Dodgers were a baseball cyborg, built head to toe with superstar parts on the back of an endless budget, fresh off back to back World Series appearances and with a chip on their collective shoulder to help take revenge on the scandalous Houston Astros.
Then, they traded for Mookie Betts, the single best non-Trout baseball player on the planet, to boot.
Those Dodgers and that Betts are what stand across the diamond from the Cincinnati Reds today in this, their ninth Cactus League game of the spring. The Reds will turn to ace Sonny Gray to help shut down the might Trolley Dodgers, as Gray will look to keep his scoreless spring going for at least a few more innings.
This one’s televised, too, so you can watch these old NL West foes do the tussle at your convenience this fine Monday afternoon. And thanks to C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic and his handy dandy tweetage, you can check out today’s lineup and available roster before watching, too.
Go Reds.
