Brewers at Reds, Game 2 - Preview and Lineups

Second to last home game, which means we’re doing the last start for each of our starters from here (well, yesterday) on out. Tyler Mahle gets the ball tonight for the final time, and he can close out his season on a high note. Overall, Mahle should be pretty happy with how things have gone, because even if his W-L record isn’t as good as it was last year, basically every other peripheral stat is. He’s coming off of a start where he beat the Cubs by only giving up 1 run in 6 innings of work.

He’ll face Jordan Lyles, who has been brilliant for the Brewers since being acquired from Pittsburgh around the deadline. He’s taken his season ERA from 5.36 to 4.17 in that span.

It’s worth noting that with the Cubs’ loss last night, the Brewers’ magic number is now 1, so Marty might not the only one celebrating in the Reds’ clubhouse tonight.

First pitch is set for an early 6:40 PM ET, so plan accordingly.

Go Reds.
