In the wake of the July 31st trade deadline, it seems that fans of the Cincinnati Reds are increasingly all up ons the dealings the team made. Out went veterans Scooter Gennett and Yasiel Puig, both of whom were in their final year of team control. So, too, were jettisoned top prospect Taylor Trammell and promising lefty pitching prospect Scott Moss, though the team did manage to reel in a potential ace in Trevor Bauer.

It appears the win-now nature of the Bauer acquisition has Reds fans largely enamored, as a whopping 82% of the tiny internet sample of respondents loved the move.

I guess when you’ve watched your team lose copious amounts of baseball games over a six year stretch, seeing the team effectively go for it for 2019-2020 is a refreshing thing. Of course, losing Trammell, a guy some ranked among the games Top 20 overall prospects, sure does sting, but so it goes.
