Louisville went with a bullpen game last night and they all did okay. “Sloppy” Sal Romano went 2 innings and allowed a run and struck out 5. Brad Boxberger made his FO return and struck out 3 but walked 4 in his 1.1 innings of work. Matt Bowman also struck out 3 in 1.2 scoreless innings.

Daytona Tortugas 3, Florida Fire Frogs 2

Daytona scored 2 in the bottom of the 9th to win in walk-off fashion on Wednesday. “Return of the” Mac Sceroler pitched well, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits with no walks and 10 (!) strikeouts over 6.2 innings of work. Damn. Andy Cox struck out 3 in a scoreless inning of relief. Jameson “Palindrome” Hannah went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk, and a RBI. Bruce “BRRRUUUUUUCE” Yari went 1 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI.

Dayton Dragons 1, Fort Wayne TinCaps 5

Dayton managed to score only 1 run despite collecting 9 hits in a 5-1 loss last night. Jhon O-H De Jesus started and went 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with 3 walks and strikeouts apiece. Part of the reason Dayton only scored once is that all 9 of their hits were singles. That and they struck out 13 times. Woof. Claudio Finol, Brian Rey, and Miguel Hernandez each went 2 for 4 on the night. That’s about it.

Dayton plays tonight at 7:05 PM EDT.
