Keury “Bad” Mella took the start, and I’m sure gave it his best, but it wasn’t very good. Mella allowed five earned runs over five innings on nine hits, zero walks, while striking out four. Justin “Mother Goose” Grimm struck out one in a scoreless inning and Austin “Light Tower” Powers struck out one in 1.1 scoreless. Rob “Ump” Refsnyder went 2 for 4 with a solo dinger. Alex “The Great” Blandino went 2 for 4 with a double.

Chattanooga had the night off.

Aaron “Jimmy” Fossas pitched super well. He tossed eight shutout innings on three hits, no walks, while striking out three. Connor Bennett did not pitch well, and was saddled with the loss an blown save. Alejo “Hi” Lopez went 3 for 4. Bruce “The Abominable” Yari doubled in the lone run.

Eduardo “Slithering” Salazar gave up four earned runs over six innings on three hits, no walks, while striking out four. Moises “Super” Nova struck out two in a scoreless inning on the bump. Jay “Bird” Schuyler went 2 for 2 with a triple, two walks, two RBI, and a run scored.

Tyler “Gabby” Garbee hasn’t been as crisp lately and it showed last night. Garbee gave up four earned runs over five innings on five hits, two walks, while striking out three. Jose “Silverback” Zorrilla struck out two in 1.2 scoreless, and Dan Serreino struck out one in 1.1 scoreless. Justin Gomez “Addams” went 2 for 4 with a solo homer, and Allan Cerda “Pop” walked and hit a solo homer of his own.
