After the Reds’ latest bullpen collapse, they suddenly find themselves trying to salvage a series split with the Braves. That said, there are worse places for them to be, and worse people they could have on the mound than Sonny Gray. Gray’s last start was a blip in his otherwise brilliant July, where he allowed 4 runs in 5 1⁄3 innings.
The Braves’ pitching staff this series has been more than up to the task, with Julio Teheran getting the ball for the home team today. The Reds tagged him for 3 runs when he started in Cincinnati in April, but pitched to a 1.48 ERA in July.
First pitch at 1:20 ET.
Go Reds.
