Reds at Pirates, Game 1 - Preview and Lineups

A new road trip, with some ugly uniforms

After an off-day, the refreshed Reds take on the reeling Pirates.

You may remember the Pirates from two separate bench-clearing brawls earlier this season. They’re 5-15 since then.

Anthony DeSclafani gets the ball for the Redlegs. Disco pitched 5 good innings in his last start, but really hasn’t been much of an innings eater this season. It’s been over a month since he went 6 innings in a start. It’ll be good to have rested relievers like Gausman and Sims on the roster today.

He’ll face Mitch Keller for the Bucs. You may remember him from making his debut against the Reds earlier this year, and getting knocked around accordingly. Let’s hope the Reds have more of that for him again tonight.

Derek Dietrich is back on the roster after Jesse Winker was ILed yesterday, just in time to get battered by Pirates pitching. He’s starting at 1B today. Should make things interesting.

First pitch at 7:05. Go Reds.
