The Brandon Larson Honorary Star of the Night

Garrett Wolforth - 3 for 5, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 3 R

Louisville Bats 2, Columbus Clippers 5

Tyler “Good Golly Miss” Mahle made his second rehab appearance last night for Louisville. He started the game and went 2.2 innings, allowing a run on two hits with a walk and five strikeouts. “Sloppy” Sal Romano threw a perfect inning of relief. Christian Colon “Oscopy” went 3 for 4 with a solo donger. Nick “Shedhi” Longhi went 1 for 3 with a double.

Tejay Antone starts tonight for Louisville at 6:35 PM EDT.

Chattanooga Lookouts 4, Mobile BayBears 12

You would have thought that heading into a season with a roster that consists Taylor Trammell (:(), Tyler Stephenson, TJ Friedl, and Tony Santillan would be able to string together quite a few wins. As it turns out, that is not the case. The Lookouts have been bad, y’all, putting together a 19-39 record in the second half. That continued with a beating at the hands of Mobile last night. Reiver Sanmartin started and was roughed up for seven runs, though only two were earned, on six hits over two innings of work. Ty “Poppin’” Boyles struck out three in 2.2 scoreless innings. The offense was able to collect 13 hits but only scored four runs, as none of those hits went for extra bases. Michael “Shaq” O’Neill went 3 for 4 and scored a run. Calten “Still in the League” Daal went 2 for 4 and drove in a run. Alberti Chavez also went 3 for 4 while scoring twice.

Wendolyn Bautista starts tonight at 7:35 PM EDT.

Daytona Tortugas 4, Dunedin Blue Jays 5

Ryan Lillie started for Daytona last night and wasn’t great, going five innings and allowing four runs on four hits while walking and striking out three apiece. Jose Garcia went 2 for 4 with a double and scored a run. Andy “Sluggo” Sugilio went 2 for 4 with a RBI and a run scored. Hendrik Clementina and Bryant Flete “Wood” each went 2 for 4 with a RBI.

Aaron Fossas starts today at 1:00 PM EDT.

Dayton Dragons 6, Fort Wayne TinCaps 4

Dayton played last night, which left me with more work than Aaron. They also won, which is more than they can say about the rest of the minor leagues last night. Connor “Hurlis” Curlis started and threw six innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Morgan “Nordstrom” Lofstrom went 3 for 3 with a double and a RBI while Miguel Hernandez also went 3 for 3 and added two doubles.

Eduardo Salazar starts tonight at 7:00 PM EDT.

Billings Mustangs 0, Great Falls Voyagers 11

Billings had three hits and didn’t score. They allowed 11 runs.

Orlando Rodriguez starts tonight for Billings at 6:35 PM MDT.

Greeneville Reds 12, Kingsport Mets 16

I’m not writing about the pitching. They gave up 16 runs. At least the offense was good! Garrett “Go Forth” Wolforth went 3 for 5 with two dingers and two RBI while scoring thrice. Danny Lantigua went 2 for 4 with a double, a triple, and three driven in while Jose “Hello” Tello “Hola” went 1 for 3 with a two-run tank and three RBI.

Greeneville plays tonight at 6:35 PM EDT.
