Louisville Bats 0, Columbus Clippers 5

[Insert euphemism for vacating the contents of your stomach] Vlad “The Impaled” Gutierrez gave up five earned runs over 4.2 innings on three hits, three walks, while striking out five. Wandy “Blandy” Peralta pitched a clean inning, and so did Matt “String” Bowman while striking out one. The bats had seven hits, none of the extra base variety, and no walks.

Chattanooga Lookouts 1, Mobile BayBears 5

Ewwwwwwwwwww. Johendi “Jumpin” Jiminian gave up four earned runs, five total, over six innings. This all transpired on eight hits, one walk, while striking out one. Brandon “Finnewhat?” Finnegan struck out two in a scoreless inning, and Tyler “Mocking” Jay pitched a shutout eighth. Michael O’Neill went 2 for 4 with a solo dinger.

Daytona Tortugas 3, Dunedin 4

Jared “Temple Of” Solomon gave up three earned runs over 5.1 innings on three hits, two walks, while striking out six. Andy “Knox” Cox struck out two in a scoreless inning. Andy “Sugar” Sugilio went 2 for 4 with a walk, RBI, and a run scored. Bruce “Almighty” Yari did the same without scoring a run. Lorenzo “Magic” Cedrola went 2 for 4 as well.

Dayton Dragons 7, Lansing Lugnuts 2

Lyon “Heart” Richardson was fantastic. He pitched 5.2 shutout innings on seven hits, no walks, while striking out six. Tyler “Gibby” Gibson struck out two in 1.1 innings pitched. Jay “Bird” Schuyler went 2 for 4 with three RBI, a walk, and two runs scored. Miguel Hernandez knocked in two, scored two, while going 2 for 2 with a two bagger, and Mike Siani went 2 for 5 with another run knocked in. In fact, lots of players had two hit games so go check out that box scores. What Dayton did that was really spectacular in this game was run the bases. They had a total of six stolen bases (Gordon 2, Ventura, Bautistia, Siani, and Martinez). It was Siani’s 40th swiped bag of the season. He also has a .327 OBP in what was really his age 19 season. Not too shabby.

Billings Mustangs 10, Great Falls Voyagers 6

Carlos Carreno gave up six earned runs over 4.2 innings. Ryan “Sand” Dunne struck out six over 2.1 shutout innings, Johnnie “Rob” Schneider struck out the side, and Francis Peguero struck out two in a scoreless inning. Reniel Ozuna knocked in five runs on a 2 for 4 night while hitting his 5th dinger of the year. It was of the grand slam variety. TJ Hopkins his a solo homer.

Greeneville Reds 2, Burlington Royals 0

Holy shit. Randy Wynne just did a thing, or as close to a thing as a thing can be. Wynne, pitched eight shutout innings while giving up only one hit. He did not walk a batter and STRUCK OUT 17 BATTERS! Seven-freaking-teen. Tanner Cooper mopped things up in the 9th to get the save while striking out one. Jose “Mello” Tello went 2 for 4 with a RBI.
