Padres at Reds, Game 2 - Preview and Lineups

Go Reds.

MLB: San Diego Padres at Cincinnati Reds David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

The silver lining to games like last night is that there’s another game today. And, that the Reds’ rotation is good now, so there’s a chance that you could get a good performance from your starter and swing the series momentum back your way.

The Reds have one of those guys going tonight in Sonny Gray. Despite only going 5 innings in his last start against the Cardinals, he struck out 10 and pitched a great game. He’s pitching as well as anyone on the team right now, so it’ll be good to see him try to stop the bleeding tonight.

The Padres have Cal Quantrill going tonight, another part of their young core. He’s bounced back and forth between the rotation and the bullpen, but he’s having a fantastic year.

Nick Senzel is back in the lineup for this one after missing last night’s game, except for his pinch-hitting appearance. Still no Jesse Winker.

Rain in the forecast for this one, so it could be a late night. First pitch at 7:10. Go Reds.
