The Brandon Larson Honorary Star of the Night

Vladimir Gutierrez - 6 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 10 K

Louisville Bats 4, Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs 7

Louisville had a bullpen meltdown, allowing 6 runs in the final 2 innings to fall 7-4. Vladimir “Nice Glutes” Gutierrez, however, was fantastic. He threw 6 innings and allowed only 1 run on 2 hits while walking 2 and striking out 10. Damn. He also went 2 for 2 and hit a solo dinger, collecting as many hits as he allowed. Nick “Hit Ball” Longhi went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a run scored.

Louisville plays tonight at 7:00 PM EDT.

Chattanooga Lookouts 0, Pensacola Blue Wahoos 13

Man. That was bad. The offense only collected 4 hits on the night and the pitching, well, you see the score. The “best” pitcher of the night was Tyler Jay who allowed a run on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4 in 3.1 innings of relief. Anyway, you can check the box score about the rest of the game. It wasn’t good.

Chattanooga plays tonight at 7:35 PM EDT.

Daytona Tortugas 5, Charlotte Stone Crabs 0

Ryan Lillie got the start for Daytona last night and was absolutely dominant. He threw 6 shutout innings and allowed only 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8. Well done. Diomar “In the rough” Lopez and Connor Bennett each struck out 2 batters in their relief appearances. It was a pretty good night from the offense. Jose Garcia continues to hit the ball well this season, as he went 1 for 3 with a 2-run dinger and 2 runs scored. Hendrik “Citrus” Clementina went 2 for 4 with a solo blast. Alejo Lopez and Andy “Sluggo” Sugilio each went 2 for 4.

Daytona plays tonight at 7:05 PM EDT.

Dayton Dragons 1, Bowling Green Hot Rods 5

Lyon Richardson started for Dayton last night and wasn’t bad. He threw 5 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits while walking 1 and striking out 4. He unfortunately didn’t get much help from the offense or the bullpen. Juan Martinez went 2 for 4 with a solo tank. Moises Nova struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings of relief.

Dayton plays tonight at 7:35 PM EDT.

Billings Mustangs 11, Grand Junction Rockies 2

Omar Conoropo started for Billings last night and pitched well. He pitched 5 shutout innings while allowing only 2 hits, no walks, and striking out 6. Jeffry “El” Nino struck out 5 batters in his 2 innings of relief. Reniel Ozuna went 3 for 4 with a triple, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Leonardo “Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello” Seminati went 2 for 3 and drove in a pair of runs. Reyny Reyes also drove in 2 on a 2 for 4 night.

Billings takes the field again tonight at 7:15 PM MDT.

Greeneville Reds 9, Bluefield Blue Jays 2

Juan Manuel Abril started for Greeneville and was either an opener or got hurt, because he only went 1.1 innings and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits. Randy “Win” Wynne “Win” pitched the rest of the 7.2 innings and did well. He didn’t allow a run on 7 hits, walked nobody, and struck out 4. The offense was hitting on all cylinders, too. Ivan “Drago” Johnson went 3 for 5 with a double and 3 RBI. Tyler “Tommy” Callihan went 1 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI. Mike Spooner “I hardly knew her” went 1 for 2 with a RBI.

The Baby Reds play again tonight at 6:05 PM EDT.
