The trade deadline may have passed, but the Reds keep adding to their roster. After a waiver claim for Kevin Gausman last week, they reached back into that pot today to pick up infielder Freddy Galvis from the Blue Jays:
The #Reds have claimed off waivers from the Blue Jays IF Freddy Galvis.

Galvis is enjoying his best offensive season ever, but found himself out in the cold in Toronto. He’s hitting .267/.299/.444 in 115 games this season, and has a $5.5M team option for next season if the Reds decide that he’s worth bringing back. A corresponding roster move will be announced when he reports to the Reds on Tuesday.
In an unrelated move, Amir Garrett won’t be available for this series or the next, as he’s serving his suspension starting tonight. The Reds staggered these suspensions so that Hughes is done with his, so they’ll only be shorthanded one reliever instead of two.
