Narciso Crook - 3 for 5, 2 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB, BB
Louisville Bats 13, Toledo MudHens 4
Well, this is one way to make a crappy season look a little bit brighter. Vlad “The Impaler” Gutierrez took the start and wasn’t great but wasn’t horrible. He allowed three earned runs, four total, on nine hits, one walk, while striking out nine. Joel “Sofa King” Kuhnel struck out one in a scoreless inning of work. The Bats ended up hitting 16 hits and walking seven times in this one. Also, some dingers got danged. Blake “Trah Heen” Trahan went 2 for 5 with a solo homer. He’s hit four on the year and I think they’ve all come in this month or something like that. Chadwick “Drumpf” Tromp hit a grand salami and walked. It was Tromp’s third dinger in four games. Narciso “Babbling” Crook went 3 for 5 with two doubles, two RBI, two runs scored, a stolen base, and a walk. Crook put up some pretty decent numbers in AA and is now beating the piss out of the ball in in 155 at bats. He’s slashing .310/.367/.600 and showing some power he’s never really showed before. That AAA ball, y’all. Aristides “The Philosopher” Aquino went 3 for 6, Mitch Nay doubled twice, and Brian “Beef” O’Grady went 2 for 4 with two walks and a stolen base.
Chattanooga Lookouts 3, Tennessee Smokies 4
Packy got wacky again. Not that this is anything new. Packy “Your Boxes” Naughton continues to just dominate everyone. He gave up one earned run over six innings on three hits, one walk, while striking out nine. Ty “Poppin” Boyles struck out three in two scoreless, and Jesse “Draggin Feet” Stallings didn’t give up an earned run in his two innings though one run did score. Jose Siri went 3 for 5 with his 10th dinger of the year and two runs scored. Gavin “Though He Walks Through” LaValley walked thrice.
Daytona had the night off. That’s ok. Louisville scored enough runs for them to get a break.
Dayton Dragons 1, Fort Wayne TinCaps 5
Lyon “Down” Richardson didn’t have his best start. He gave up three earned runs over two innings on four hits, one walk, while striking out two. “Ed, Edd, and” Edd Demurias struck out four in two shutout innings from the pen, and Matt Pidich “Pop” struck out two in his scoreless inning of relief. Mariel Bautista went 2 for 4.
Billings Mustangs 7, Great Falls Voyagers 2
Miguel Medrano took the start and was pretty good. He allowed one earned run over four innings on four hits, one earned run, two total runs, one walk, while striking out five. Frainger “Arangutan” Aranguren struck out two in two scoreless innings of relief, and Alec Byrd struck out one in two scoreless. Jonathan “Willy” Willems went 3 for 4 with a triple, a double, and two RBI. James Free “Bird” hit a two run homer while going 2 for 4 with a walk and two runs scored. Quin “Killed Fiddy Men” Cotton doubled, walked twice, and scored two runs. Eric Yang “Chung Tonight” doubled twice and knocked in two runs.
Greeneville had the night off.
