Farmers Only Weekend Harvest: Brian Rey Breaks A Dayton Record

Louisville breaks out the power.

Louisville Bats - 43-63 Overall

Friday: Win (4-2)

Saturday: Win (8-1)

Sunday: Win (7-3)

  • Keury “Hella” Mella - 7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
  • Matt “String” Bowman - 3 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
  • Jesus “Saves” Reyes - 3 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
  • Christian “Butt” Colon - 4 for 9, 3 2B, 1 RBI, 2 R, 4 BB, 2 SB
  • Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino - 4 for 12, 3 HR, 7 RBI
  • Brian “Beef” O’Grady - 3 for 10, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2 BB, SB
  • Narciso “I Am Not A” Crook - 5 for 13, 2 HR, 2B, 3 RBI, 3 R, SB
  • Chadwick “Buffoon” Tromp - 3 for 6, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 3 R

Louisville had themselves quite a weekend. Obviously, the big name of these three games ends up being Aristides Aquino. Aquino hit his 26th, 27th, and 28th home runs of the year. He’s having an absolutely spectacular year and with the improvements he’s made at the plate it would be really difficult for the Reds not to call him up soon. Obviously, that is dependent on what happens with Yasiel Puig. But, if you want to know what you have in the future with Aquino then decisions needs to be made. Overall, the Bats his eight dingers over the weekend, Mitch Nay hitting one as well. With some timely pitching that’ll get you three wins.

Chattanooga Lookouts - 46-59 Overall

Friday: Win (11-10)

Saturday: Loss (1-4)

Sunday: Loss (3-4)

  • Scotty “Doesn’t Know” Moss - 6 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 3 BB, 4 K
  • Brandon “Stout” Finnegan - 3 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
  • Johendi “Jumpin” Jiminian - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
  • Jose Siri - 2 for 10, HR, 3B, 2 R, 4 RBI, 3 BB
  • Calten “Dance” Daal - 7 for 14, 2B, SB, 1 RBI, 3 R, BB

For the whole weekend, there really wasn’t that much to note from the Lookouts. Friday, they busted out the whoopin sticks to actually get themselves a win. There were several good offensive lines in that one. The offense was led by Chris “Annie R U” Okey who went 3 for 5 with a 2B, HR, and two RBI. But, overall the season has ended up being really disappointing for the Lookouts. They got off to a hot start but once the heat of Summer came around in June they’ve started to wane. That also goes for Taylor Trammell who is seeing his numbers fall.

Daytona Tortugas - 54-50 Overall

Friday Game 1 - Win/F7 (8-1)

Friday Game 2 - Loss/F7 (3-4)

Saturday - Loss (1-2)

Sunday - Win/F11 (6-4)

  • Wendolyn Bautista - 6 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K
  • John “Ghoul” ghyzel - 3 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 1 K
  • Mac “And Cheese” Sceroler - 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K
  • Diomar “Do More” Lopez - 2 IP. 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
  • “Finding” Dauri Moreta - 2 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
  • Andy “Sluglord” Sugilio - 5 for 12, 3B, 2 RBI, R
  • Pabel “Pepper” Manzanero - 4 for 11, 2B, RBI, 2 R
  • Alejo “Aloha” Lopez - 4 for 11, 1 R, BB

Not a lot to write home about with the stat lines. Some players have a big night and then kind of crapped to bed the rest of the weekend. The only thing not mentioned here is a home run by Hendrik “The Mighty” Clementina on Friday. There was a some good starting pitchign this weekend that went to waste.

Dayton Dragons - 43-62 Overall

Friday: Loss (0-1)

Saturday: Win (14-7)

Sunday: Loss (1-7)

  • Connor “Ice” Curlis - 7 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
  • Andy “King” Fisher - 3 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 K
  • Brian “The Last Jedi” Rey - 4 for 11, 2B, 2 HR, 8 RBI, BB
  • Claudio Finol “Countdown” - 2 for 6, 2B, RBI, 2 BB

Not much to make note of this weekend for Dayton outside of the game had by Brian Rey on Saturday. Rey knocked in a total of eight runs, which broke a single game record for any player that has ever played for Dayton. Previous record holders with seven were guys like Adam Dunn and Joey Votto. Rey hit two dingers and doubled to rack up all those RBI. Miguel Hernandez hit a dinger on Saturday.

Due to personal time constraints, only links to box scores will be presented for Billings and Greeneville
