Brandon Larson Honorary Star Of The Night
Tyler Garbee - 5 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 9 K
Louisville Bats 4, Gwinnett Stripers 5
Tejay Antone took the start and was pretty good right up until he wasn’t. He threw three shutout innings to start things off, but the wheels started to fall apart in the 4th. In all, he gave up four earned runs over 6.1 innings on seven hits, three walks, while striking out five. R.J. Alaniz “Morissette” struck out one in a scoreless 9th inning. Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino hit a two run homer which was his 25th of the year. Brian “Beef” O’Grady went 2 for 4 with two doubles, and Scott Schebler went 2 for 3 with a RBI. Tucker “Barnfart” Barnhart doubled in his rehab start.
Chattanooga Lookouts 1, Birmingham Barons 2
Tony “Santigold” Santillan put together a pretty good start in what has been an underwhelming season. Santillan gave up one earned run (two total) over 5.2 innings on four hits, two walks, while striking out eight. Jesse “Clutch” Stallings struck out one in 1.1 innings of perfect relief, and Juan Martinez pitched a perfect inning. Taylor Trammell went 2 for 4 with a double, and so did Tyler “Bat Flip” Stephenson. Jose Siri knocked in a run while going 2 for 4, and Alfredo Rodriguez continued to rack up the singles by going 2 for 4 as well.
Daytona had the night off. What a weight off my back!
Dayton Dragons 4, Great Lakes Loons 6
Nick “Yo Yo” Lodolo made his debut in the lands east of Montana and it went pretty well. Lodolo gave up an earned run in three innings pitched on three hits, no walks, while striking out five. He has yet to give up a walk since turning pro and is striking out everyone. He’s been quite unlucky on hit balls, but other than that it’s been a swell short season for the first round pick. I’m sure this will end well. As you can see, after Lodolo left the game the bullpen imploded. Miguel Hernandez went 2 for 4 with a double. Mike “SUPERSTAR” Siani singled and walked twice. He also stole his 31st base of the year.
Billings Mustangs 11, Missoula Osprey 13
So, this one was embarrassing. The Mustangs were clinging to a two run lead in the bottom of the 8th and then gave up four runs. The only pitcher that did anything resembling good was Jeffry “Boy” Nino who struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings of relief. Now, that I look at the box score the loss is even more upsetting as the last three runs in the 8th were unearned. Edwin “Over” Yon “Der” swatted a two run dinger, walked, and scored two runs, and Quin Cotton “Shorts” went 2 for 5 with a solo homer and two RBI total.
Greeneville Reds 7, Danville Braves 0
Tyler “Eat Arby’s” Garbee pitched a terrific game. He pitched five shutout innings on three hits, only one walk, while striking out nine. In 27 innings pitched he has a 0.67 ERA with only four walks and 34 strikeouts. Raul “William” Wallace struck out one in two scoreless innings of relief, and Tyler Gibson struck out three in two innings of perfect relief. Carlos Reina went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk, three RBI, and two runs scored. Mike “Soup” Spooner went 1 for 2 with a RBI and two walks.
