With the recent call-ups of Lucas Sims and Sal Romano, Louisville had to go with a bullpen game last night and it worked out pretty well. 6 Louisville pitchers combined to give up only 1 run on the evening. Eric Stout went 3 innings and allowed no runs and struck out 2. Justin “Things are” Grimm struck out 4 in 2 shutout innings. The star of the night was Alex “The Great” Blandino, who reached base 4 times, going 3 for 3 with a double, a walk, and a walk-off solo dinger. He also made this nifty play, which was pretty awesome. Blake “Trade Hands” Trahan went 1 for 3 with a solo homer.

Vladimir Gutierrez starts today for Louisville at Noon EDT.

Chattanooga Lookouts 0, Birmingham Barons 1

After ending a 15(!) game losing streak on Monday, the Lookouts lost again on Tuesday falling 1-0 to Birmingham. Scott Moss got the start and was fantastic, going 5.1 innings and allowing 1 run on 4 hits with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. Stuart “Little” Fairchild went 2 for 3 and Jonathan “Bollywood” India went 1 for 3 and stole a base.

TBD starts tonight for the Lookouts at 8:05 PM EDT.

Daytona Tortugas 6, Tampa Tarpons 5

Daytona was powered by a 5-run 2nd inning and held on to win 6-5 last night against Tampa. Austin “Animal Farm” Orewiler started and was not great. He allowed 5 runs (3 earned) on 9 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Jose Garcia went 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI and Drew Mount “Your Steed” went 2 for 4 and scored a run.

Dayton Dragons

Dayton was off last night. Lyon Richardson gets the start tonight at 7:00 PM EDT.

Billings Mustangs 1, Great Falls Voyagers 0

Omar Conoropo started last night for Billings and pitched well, throwing 5 shutout innings and allowing only 2 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Ryan “Jackass” Dunne struck out 4 in 2 shutout innings. The Billings offense didn’t do much, but they did enough. TJ Hopkins went 2 for 4 and had the walk-off RBI in the 9th.

Miguel Medrano gets the start tonight at 6:35 PM MDT.

Greeneville Reds 6, Danville Braves 3

Greeneville kept the organization’s winning ways going with a 6-3 win last night. Juan Manuel Abril started and pitched pretty well, going 5 innings and allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Randy “Win” Wynne got the win in this win but throwing 3 shutout innings of relief. AJ “Bumps Ass” Bumpass went 1 for 3 with a solo dinger. Tyler “Big Tom” Callihan, who has really turned it around lately, went 2 for 4 and scored a run. Luke Berryhill went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and Ranser Amador went 2 for 4 with a triple and 1 RBI.
