Tuesday night’s effective obliteration of the Milwaukee Brewers meant the Cincinnati Reds have already locked up this series victory. That said, when you’re buried in the standings and just lost 3 of 4 in a homestand, there is no settling for this club - especially not with the July 31st trade deadline looming.
In other words, it’s still must-win time for these Reds to have any shot at anything in 2019.
They’ll turn to Lucas Sims to start the series finale, with hopes that he can replicate his brilliant first start of the season. Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Brewers will roll out veteran Jhoulys Chacin, who simply hasn’t been the same in 2019 after his rock solid 2018 season. Derek Johnson strikes again, perhaps...?
It’s a matinee, so plan accordingly. First pitch is set for 2:10 PM ET, and since there’s a roof on Miller Park, they’ll be base-ballin’ one way or another.
Go Reds.
