Farmers Only: Mike Siani Drives In Five

But, that’s a convenient, click-baity title because James Free did a Votto.

Brandon Larson Honorary Star Of The Night

James Free - 4 for 4, 2B, BB

Louisville Bats 4, Pawtucket Red Sox 2

“Sweaty” Sal Romano took the start and he’s been real dang good since they started letting him do it again. Sal gave up one earned run over five innings on one hit, three walks, while striking out ten. Alex “Light Tower” Powers and Joel “Sofa King” Kuhnel struck out two in scoreless innings of relief. Chadwick “Tiny Hands” Tromp, Brian “Beef” O’Grady, and Narciso “Babbling” Crook all hit dingers. Scott Schebler went 1 for 3 with a walk, and Alex “The Great” Blandino walked twice. Tromp walked as well.

Chattanooga Lookouts 2, Pawtucket Red Sox 8

Packy “Sacky” Naghton got worked by the Red Sox. He gave up four earned runs over five inning on eight hits, one walk, while striking out only two. Ty “Lancing” Boyles struck out three in two innings of relief and that was about it for the bullpen. Gavin LaValley knocked in two with a double. Ibandel “Princess” Isabel and Tyler Stephenson both singled and walked.

Daytona Tortugas 4, Jupiter Hammerheads 2

Austin “Big Brother” Orewiler pitched well. He gave up only an earned run over five innings on four hits, one walk, while striking out three. Connor Bennett struck out three in two scoreless, and Diomar Lopez struck out one in a scoreless inning to pick up the save. Andy “Slug Lord” Sugilio went 2 for 4 with a solo dinger, and Alejo “Aloha” Lopez went 2 for 3.

Dayton Dragons 8, Quad Cities River Bandits 5

Lyon “Down” Richardson was not good. He gave up three earned runs over 2.1 innings on four hits, no walks, while striking out one. That line kind of dictates that he may have been a bit unlucky. Carlos “Luchador” Machorro struck out five in 3.2 perfect innings, and Matt “Pudding” Pidich struck out two in two scoreless to get the save. Randy “Ace” Ventura went 2 for 4 with a RBI and 3 runs scored, and Brian “Say Hey” Rey went 2 for 4 with a double and run scored. But, Mike “Sex Machine” Siani went 3 for 5 with 5 RBI. You may not know this but Siani is putting together a pretty nice little season after slumping for the first six weeks or so.

Billings Mustangs 4, Grand Junction Rockies 9

Nick “YOLO” Lodolo took the start and was pretty good. He did give up three hits and a run over 2.2 innins but did not walk a batter and struck out five. Jeffrey “El” Nino struck out one in a scoreless inning of relief. James “Live” Free “Or Die” went 4 for 4 with a double, RBI, and a walk. Nate Scantlin went 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored, and Eric Yang “Gang” went 3 for 4 with a run scored.

This game was from Wednesday but it’s about Lodolo so whatever.

Greeneville Reds 6, Elizabethton Twins 2

Graham “Cracker” Ashcraft pitched five shutout innings. He did not give up a hit, walked three, while striking out six. Jake “Dilbert” Gilbert struck out the side in an inning of scoreless relief, and Alec “The” Byrd “Is The Wyrd” struck out one in a scoreless inning. Tyler “Tommy” Callihan probably hasn’t gotten off to the start of his pro career that he intended, but last night he did go 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI. Danny “Lizard” Lantigua went 2 for 3 with a run scored.
