Reds to sign 3rd round pick Tyler Callihan

Slot value for that pick is in the $700k range, so he’ll be getting approximately twice that amount. With a commitment to South Carolina looming, the Reds knew that it would take some serious cheddar to get it done, and picked him anyway. They’ll definitely need to save money elsewhere, as 2nd rounder Rece Hinds is also expected to go over slot value, so it’ll be interesting to see how this signing affects the rest of their list.
