After a dominating pitching performance by Luis Castillo et al., in Game 1 on Tuesday night, the Reds took a weather-forced break on Wednesday night. This give them a chance to sweep the Cardinals today, which is always a welcome possibility. The Reds will send Anthony DeSclafani to the mound, who has not been great over the last month or so. He has allowed at least 3 ER in each of his last 5 starts and put up a 6.94 ERA in that time frame. He does own a 3.50 ERA against the Cardinals in his career, including an outing back on April 26, where he didn’t allow a run in 6 innings against the Birds.
St. Louis will counter with rookie Dakota Hudson. Hudson allowed 3 runs in 5.2 innings against the Reds the last time they faced off back in April, but has put up a stellar 2.80 ERA since then. Hopefully the Reds’ offense continues to do work and give Disco some run support. First pitch is scheduled for 1:15 PM EDT.
Go Reds! You’re our favorite team!
