Farmers Only: Aristides Aquino Goes For 22!

Louisville also scored a bunch.

Rob Refsnyder - 3 for 4, HR, 3 RBI, BB

Louisville Bats 9, Gwinnett Stripers 5

I’m not going to bury the lede on this one. Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino extended his hit streak to 22 games. He didn’t dinger, which is rare these days, but he did go 1 for 3 with TWO walks and a RBI. It’s a freakish situation for Aquino and the Reds at this point. He didn’t have to come back to the team as a minor league free agent in 2019 but did. Now, he’s killing it and there really isn’t a spot for the Reds to give him an extended look at the Major League level with Puig and Winker starting to turn it on. Tejay “Teehee” Antone made his AAA debut and got roughed up a bit but still showed the stuff that has him as a rapid riser this year. Antone went 5.1 innings and gave up five earned runs on nine hits, two walks, while striking out seven. Eric “Thick” Stout pitched 1.1 scoreless and Jimmy “Eat World” Herget pitched 1.2 scoreless with a strikeout. Rob “Bob” Refnsyder went 3 for 4 with a walk and a 3-run tater. Alex “The Great” Blandino went 2 for 4 with a double, three 3 RBI and a walk, and Christian Colon went 3 for 6 with a RBI. Other stuff happened too but this game recap has gone long enough. Oh, and Ryan LaMarre, former 2nd round pick in 2010, is still kicking it around in AAA but for the Stripers.

Louisville plays at 12:05 PM ET.

Chattanooga finished up their All-Star break and will get back to action at 7:15 PM ET against Birmingham.

Daytona Tortugas 5, Florida Fire Frogs 4

Mac “Attack” Sceroler took the start and was ok. He went four innings and gave up two earned runs on three hits, two walks, while striking out five. Diomar “Do More” Lopez struck out four in two innings of kickass relief, and Andy Cox picked up the save. Mark “The Spark” Kolozsvary went 2 for 4 with a solo homer, Stuart “Little” Fairchild went 2 for 4 with a RBI, and Andy “Slug Lord” Sugilio went for 5 with a double, RBI, and two runs scored. Yonathan “Yonny” Mendoza went 1 for 2 with two walks.

Daytona has Clearwater at 7:00 PM ET.

Dayton also comes back from their All-Star break and will taking on Lansing at 7:00 PM ET.

Billings Mustangs 5, Great Falls Voyagers 11

The pitching was just a bunch of ewwwwwww. I don’t wanna talk about it. Reniel “Artery” Ozuna knocked a dinger and had 3 RBI total. Quincy “Virus” McAfee went 3 for 4 with a double, a RBI, and two runs scored. Robert “Burt” Boselli went 2 for 4 with a double and a RBI as well.

Billings has Great Falls again at 6:35 PM MT.

Greeneville Reds 3, Kingsport Mets 1

Orlando “Cesspool” Noriega had himself a good start. He pitched five innings without giving up a run on four hits, two walks, while striking out three. In fact, if you take away the errors the Baby Reds actually pitched a shutout. Tyler “Barbie” Garbee struck out one in an inning, JC “Penny’s” Keys struck out two in the same, and Dan “Marino” Serreino struck out one in 1.2 innings to get the save. Danny Lantigua doubled and walked twice, and 3rd round pick, Tyler “Tommy” Callihan picked up his first professional hit.

The Baby Reds will play the Baby Mets again at 6:40 PM ET.
