Louisville Bats

Louisville was off last night. Vladimir Gutierrez will try and turn things around tonight at 7:00 PM EDT.

Chattanooga Lookouts

Chattanooga is on their All-Star break. It was announced today that Taylor Trammell would be heading to the 7-day IL with a hamstring strain, which is a big ol’ bummer. The Lookouts will resume play June 20.

Daytona Tortugas 6, Florida Fire Frogs 4

Daytona resisted a late comeback last night to pull of a 6-4 win over the Florida Fire Frogs. Ryan Lillie got the start and was solid, allowing no runs on 2 hits with no walks and 3 strikeouts over 4 innings of work. Andy Cox struck out 3 in a scoreless inning of relief. Scooter “Ryan” Gennett went 0 for 2 with a walk in his first rehab at-bats of the season. Stuart “Little” Fairchild went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Hendrik “Oh, my darling” Clementina also went 2 for 4, adding a double and 1 RBI.

It’s nice to see Scooter Gennett doing baseball things again. For a team that hasn’t quite figured everything out offensively, having his bat back in the lineup could be a welcome addition for the Reds. Finding a spot for him in an already crowded roster is a completely different story. In the meantime, here’s to a rehab assignment with no setbacks and a quick adjustment back to facing in-game pitching. Welcome back to baseball, Scooter.

Wennington Romero starts tonight for Daytona at 7:05 PM EDT.

Dayton Dragons

The Dragons are also on their All-Star break. They will resume play on June 20.

Billings Mustangs

Billings was also off. Justin McGregor gets the start tonight at 6:35 PM MDT.

Greeneville Reds

Greeneville gets things rolling tonight against Kingsport at 6:30 PM EDT. TBD will be getting the start for the Baby Reds.
