Lyon Richardson - 6 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K
Louisville Bats 10, Pawtucket Red Sox 8
The good news in this game is that the offense was good. The bad news is that Vladimir “Bad Glutes” Gutierrez was not. He continued his Triple-A struggles by lasting only 1.2 innings, giving up 6 runs on 4 hits with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. “General” Jackson Stephens was able to stop the bleeding with 3.1 shutout innings of relief, while allowing only 1 hit and striking out 2. Brian “Beef” O’Grady continued his solid season, going 2 for 3 with a double, 2 walks, and 2 RBI. Phil “Phlervin” Ervin went 2 for 3 and drove in a run while Narciso Crook and Aristides “Heiress Tities” Aquino each hit 2-run dingers.
Eric Stout starts tonight for Louisville at 7:00 PM EDT.
Chattanooga Lookouts 1, Montgomery Biscuits 7
Scott Moss got the start for Chattanooga and didn’t get much help from his defense. He allowed 4 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits with only 1 walk and 8 strikeouts over 5 innings of work. There wasn’t much going for the offense, either. Jose “Ask” Siri went 1 for 4 with a solo dinger and Brantley “Ring My” Bell and Calten “Still in the League” Daal each collected 2 hits.
Tejay Antone starts tonight for the Lookouts at 7:00 PM EDT.
Daytona Tortugas 4, Lakeland Flying Tigers 3
Austin “1984” Orewiler started for Daytona on Wednesday and was very efficient. He threw 6 innings and allowed only 1 run on 3 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeouts. Ryan “Busta” Nutof struck out all 3 batters he faced in a scoreless inning of relief. Alejo Lopez went 3 for 4 on the evening and scored a run. Jonathan “Bollywood” India went 1 for 4 with a RBI triple and Drew Mount went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI.
Daytona plays tonight at 6:30 PM EDT with Mac Sceroler getting the start.
Dayton Dragons 5, West Michigan Whitecaps 2
Dayton used a 3-run triple off the bat of Juan Martinez in the bottom of the 8th to defeat West Michigan on Wednesday. Lyon Richardson got the start and pitched very well. He allowed 2 unearned runs on 2 hits with 1 walk against 7 strikeouts over 6 innings of work. Carlos Machorro “Man” and Connor Bennett each struck out 2 in scoreless relief appearances. Brian Rey went 2 for 4 with a solo blast.
James Marinan starts for Dayton at 7:00 PM EDT.
