Brandon Larson Honorary Star Of The Night
Mike Siani - 4 for 4, 1 RBI, 1 R, 1 SB
Hey, it may be only four singles but the guy has gotten off to such a horrible year it’s nice to see him turn it around a bit in June. The steal was his 20th of the year. Here’s your fake trophy, kid.
Louisville Bats 2, Pawtucket Red Sox 3
Holy crap, Keury Mella was wild. He did only give up two earned runs over five innings but it all happened on six hits, six walks, while striking out only one. Jesus “Saves” Reyes, Robert “Bobert” Stephenson (2 K), and R.J. Alaniz “Morrisette” (1 K) all pitched scoreless innings out of the pen. Alex “Stanford Swing” Blandino has been getting off to a scorching start in AAA. Blandino went 2 for 3 with a walk and a run scored. He’s currently OPSing 1.162. Uncle Phil Ervin went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI, and Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino went 2 for 4.
Louisville plays at 12:00 PM ET.
Chattanooga Lookouts 6, Tennessee Smokies 1
Johendi “Jiminy Cricket” Jiminian pitched a good one. He allowed only one earned run over six innings on three hits, two walks, while striking out five. Cory Thompson struck out two in a scoreless inning, Juan “The Elder” Martinez did the same while striking out one, and Aaron Fossas “Your Teeth” copied Martinez. By the way, Cory Thompson is a former shortstop who is throwing up a 2.25 ERA in AA. TJ “You Got A” Friedl “In Me” knocked in two with a dinger and walked. Alfredo “Baby Pasta” Rodriguez continued to hit the ball, while with little to no authority, by going 3 for 5 with a RBI and two runs scored. Taylor Trammell went 2 for 4 with a walk and a RBI, and Gavin “I Haven’t Heard That Name In a Long Time” LaValley went 2 for 3 with a walk.
The Lookouts play at 7:35 PM ET.
Daytona Tortugas 9, Lakeland Flying Tigers 4
Eeeeeesh... Wennington “Everyone Loves” Romero gave up seven hits and two walks over 2.2 innings. Somehow that only led to two earned runs. He also struck out two. “Finding” Dauri Moreta struck out four in 2.2 scoreless innings of relief that put the Tortugas back on the map. Clate “Clete” Schmidt struck out two and Andy Cox struck out three both in their respective innings of cool ass relief. Stu “Balls” Fairchild went 3 for 5 with a double, 2 RBI, and a run scored. Bruce “Almighty” Yari knocked in three with a triple. Jonathan “Bengal” India went 3 for 5 with a RBI and two runs scored. Mark “Koolie” Kolozsvary doubled twice which is so nice.
Daytona plays at 6:35 PM ET.
Dayton Dragons 5, West Michigan Whitecaps 4
Jhon “Hard H” De Jesus gave up one earned run (two total) over three innings on three hits, three walks, while striking out two. Matt “Cabbage” Pidich struck out one in two scoreless innings. Mike “N Ike” Siani went 4 for 4 with a RBI, run scored, and his twentieth steal of the season. Wooooo. Jay “Bird” Schuyler went 2 for 4 with a double, a steal, and 2 RBI. Juan “The Younger” Martinez went 3 for 4 with a run scored as well.
Dayton plays at 7:00 PM ET.
