Cincinnati Reds fans seem confident LHP Nick Lodolo was a good 1st round pick

At least, the FanPulse results sure say so.

Last week’s MLB Draft saw the Cincinnati Reds splurge for the first pitcher taken, Texas Christian University southpaw Nick Lodolo. Lodolo, you’ll remember, was the highest player taken in the 2016 MLB Draft that did not sign, instead opting to head to college rather than agree to terms with the Pittsburgh Pirates, who’d selected him 41st overall.

If these FanPulse results are to be believed, it sure seems like Reds fans think their front office did a wonderful job, even though the franchise’s record with 1st round picks on pitchers hasn’t exactly been a grand one in recent years.

Hopefully, Lodolo can buck that trend and give the Reds a dominant lefty in their rotation for the first time in decades.
