The 2019 MLB Draft is just one week from today, and the Cincinnati Reds hold the #7 overall pick. With six prized bats highlighting most every single mock draft out there, what the Reds manage to pull off with that pick might require either going out on a limb with an unexpected draftee, or going with a pitcher - something that has burned them repeatedly in recent 1st rounds.

Despite that, it seems fans are pretty confident in the team’s ability to walk away with a solid pick with that selection. The early returns on Nick Senzel sure seem like they did well in 2016’s 1st round, and despite an injury to Hunter Greene and a super small MiLB sample from Jonathan India, those both appear to have been reasonable picks, too. Hopefully, the Reds can turn this #7 pick into the final big piece of their rebuilt franchise, too.
